Mondays after Games Club the LLC hosts teachers for coffee and treats for a time to have conversations about the wonderful technology and strategies and programs being used in the teachers' classrooms. It is also a time to connect as a staff and find out what is going on with everyone.
The teachers in SD#23 are lifelong learners too. I (Mrs. Nickerson) am working with UBC leaders in the Teacher-Librarian Diploma program to understand more about the learning that happens in the Library Learning Commons and how our LLC resources can best meet the needs of our learners!
Thank you for supporting our book fair and the ASM Library Learning Commons. We raised $380 in funds and $380 in product for book prizes. Your support is appreciated. Happy reading, Firebirds!
Mrs. Shewchuk and Ms. Paynter's classes were brave enough to test out our first virtual field trip at ASM for the first time. The virtual field trip took us to Colorado to explore pond life and wetlands. The students were prepped that trying something new can be a risk and this was the perfect example. I learned alot about how a virtual field trip can be presented. Next time we are going to do a two way trip where we are interacting with a person on the other side. In this trip they were presenting to hundreds of schools and we could only type in our survey answers. It was great to see that our answers matched up with other students our age too though. We are looking forward to trying again and finding a better fit trip.
